Someday a family. Someday a yard littered with toys. Someday the sweet pure love of a child. Someday the loving embrace of my husband with a little one tucked inside. Someday a Christmas Card with our family picture. Someday.
My Someday is now.
Random Fear
I worry like crazy that someone is going to sneak into my house at night and steal my baby.
Otherwise, I generally feel like my baby cakes is invincible. I don't worry about illness, or injury, or anything bad happening to him.
But I am obsessed with this fear of someone stealing him out of his crib at night.
Too weird.
Doesn't help that we live in the same city as Baby Lisa (10 month old taken from her crib a year ago and never found).
She has just started sleeping in her crib at night and once I couldn't see her on the monitor and ran in there breathless - yeah she was just curled in a ball out of the monitor's view sound asleep :)
Me too! Mine is more a general fear of her being taken - from anywhere! We live in same metro area as Jes.sica Rid.geway who was just abducted a week ago - scares the $h!t out of me!
I think it's normal to have fears about things like this. I don't necessarily worry about someone taking K out of the house, but I do worry about other things - probably weirder things than her being kidnapped!
I have gone in to Leah's room in the middle of the night to make sure her windows were locked. It has woken her up, and I don't care... I just couldn't sleep until I was sure she was safe.
I have the same fear! I check their rooms every night before I go to bed, just to make sure they're still there. And BTW- I loved getting the card from you in the mail! Such a beautiful family! I've missed your blog presence, but I know how busy a little one can make you! Hugs! Les
I swear sometimes I read your posts and feel we live parallel lives! (ie baby bonding, baby at a cheese show, etc) and I thought I was the only one with this irrational fear. Sometimes I can't sleep without checking the monitor because I hear a noise. You are not alone :o)
Hope your fears abate.... Thanks for the comment on my blog. I think I don't worry enough about things like that, my DH is always on me for locking the door etc..
Thanks for visiting! Feel free to let me know that you stopped by by leaving a comment here or emailing me at foxypopcorn at gmail. I will be sure to stop by and visit you soon too!
